Roger Federer: "If I don't sleep 11 to 12 hours a day, it's not good". The tennis legend says he needs this amount of sleep so that he does not injure himself.

The founder of Ford Motors, Henry Ford (1863-1947), on the other hand, had a completely different opinion: he wanted to reduce the amount of time spent sleeping to increase the productivity of his employees. He even called sleep superfluous. Imagine that!
To this day, sleep unfortunately does not have the best image; for many people it is a sign of weakness. Yet it is undisputed today that little sleep enormously restricts performance.

One who knows this for sure is Roger Federer, the best tennis player ever. He attributes his unique and admirable performance over many years directly to sufficient sleep. He says that he regularly sleeps 11 to 12 hours a night to remain efficient.

For the maestro, it is clear: "Sleep deprivation is the worst. It makes you cranky. Next thing you know, you get sick or hurt."

Professor Ingo Fietze, somnologist, head of the Interdisciplinary Sleep Medicine Centre at the Berlin Charité and chairman of the board of the German Sleep Foundation, is of the same opinion.

In an interview with the German business weekly ‘WirtschaftsWoche’ he leaves no doubt about the importance of sufficient long sleep:

"...no one can get by on little sleep for a long time. Anyone can have a bad night or even get too little sleep for a week, but those who regularly sleep less than six hours are not as mentally active and fit."

And further:
"According to the leading American Sleep Academy, good sleep has a minimum length of seven and a half to eight hours, whether you're 30 years old or 95, and of that, ten to 20 per cent should be deep sleep and a third should be dream sleep."

So, let's make sure we get enough sleep, and that our bed, duvet, and pillow suit us and are comfortable, so that they support us as well as possible in our need for rest and relaxation.

You will find the perfect duvet at duvetsuisse.com. The tried and tested collection is divided into four qualities and offers 17 different sizes. Depending on your heat requirements, you will find exactly the right duvet from "Super Light" to "Super Warm"
